The Ponte dei Pugni, translated as the “Bridge of Fists,” holds a unique historical significance.

Situated in the Dorsoduro district, this bridge was once the site of intense rivalries between two opposing factions in Venice known as the Nicolotti and Castellani. Fights between these groups would occur on the bridge, leading to clashes and challenges. While the original bridge where these brawls took place no longer exists, the current bridge stands as a reminder of Venice’s colorful past and the spirited rivalries that once defined the city’s culture.
