4Lago di Carezza (Karersee)

Legend has it that a sorcerer once tried to capture a beautiful nymph bathing in Lago di Carezza by creating a rainbow to bridge the earth and the sky.  

Though his plan failed, the lake retained the colors of the rainbow, shimmering in hues of green and gold beneath the Latemar Mountain. Also known as the Rainbow Lake, Lago di Carezza is shallow but immensely captivating, especially in the early morning or late afternoon when the sunlight dances across its surface, and the reflections of the forest and mountains are most vivid.
