10Paris, France

Paris is an obvious choice for a first European adventure, but its popularity is well deserved. The French capital offers an extraordinary concentration of famous landmarks, museums, architecture, cafés and neighbourhoods.

First-time visitors can see the Eiffel Tower, walk along the Seine, admire the Louvre and wander through Montmartre. Yet Paris becomes even more enjoyable when you leave the major attractions behind and explore its smaller streets, bakeries and traditional cafés.

It is also an excellent starting point for discovering France by train, with destinations such as Versailles, Reims and other cities easily accessible.
