Gondolas are synonymous with Venice and have been used as a primary mode of transportation for centuries.
Traditionally, gondolas were painted in various colors, but a law passed in the 16th century mandated that they be painted black to prevent competition among wealthy families. Today, gondolas are meticulously crafted by hand and consist of 280 individual pieces made from eight different types of wood. The distinctive shape and design of the gondola allow it to navigate Venice’s narrow canals with ease.
Beyond its renowned architectural marvels and gastronomic delights, Italy's flower fields, gardens, and villas stand as testament to the country's deep-rooted love affair with botany and landscape design. From the rolling hills of Tuscany awash with the hues of wildflowers to the meticulously curated gardens of historic villas, Italy’s floral heritage invites exploration and admiration.
