4Quepos Bridge, Costa Rica

Also known as the “Bridge of Death,” the Quepos Bridge in Costa Rica is a narrow and rusted steel structure that looks like it could collapse at any moment.

Spanning the Río Tarcoles, this bridge is barely wide enough for one vehicle at a time. To make matters worse, large trucks often cross it despite the weight limits, causing the bridge to sway dangerously. The locals’ nickname for the bridge says it all—crossing the Quepos Bridge is not for the faint of heart.
