6New Smyrna Beach, Florida, USA

Florida’s New Smyrna Beach holds the dubious title of being the “Shark Attack Capital of the World.”

Located on the state’s Atlantic coast, this beach consistently reports the highest number of shark attacks annually. The waters are teeming with bull sharks and blacktip sharks, particularly during the summer months when swimmers, surfers, and sharks all converge in the same area. Although most attacks are non-fatal, the frequency of incidents makes this beach a perilous choice for water activities.
