10Ancient Wonder – The Colossus of Rhodes

Rhodes is also the place where one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World was located- the Colossus of Rhodes.

Erected in 280 BC, this enormous bronze statue of the sun god Helios stood over 100 feet tall at the entrance of the island’s harbor. Although it no longer exists today, its legacy lives on, symbolizing the island’s ancient grandeur and significance.
