If Bordeaux is the French capital of wine, then Lyon is the capital of food. It’s the third-largest city in France and is recognised by the UNESCO for its wealth of buildings from all points in its history (dating back to the Romans in the 1st century BC).

Old Lyon is one of the largest Renaissance areas in Europe, with many narrow streets, hidden courtyards, and secret passageways (known as traboules). But Lyon also a popular commercial hub with modern districts and hipster delights.
