4Rochester Castle – England (1088 AD)

Rochester Castle in Kent boasts one of the oldest and best-preserved Norman keeps in England. Built shortly after the Norman Conquest, the castle’s towering stone walls were designed to guard the crossing of the River Medway.
It has seen numerous sieges, most notably during the reign of King John. Today, its impressive shell still dominates the landscape and serves as a vivid reminder of medieval power.
