8Cala Macarelleta, Menorca

Menorca is packed with spectacular coves, but Cala Macarelleta remains one of the most enchanting. Surrounded by pine-covered hills and pale rocks, the tiny beach has exceptionally clear turquoise water.

Getting there requires walking from nearby Cala Macarella, which adds to the sense of escape. During summer, cars are restricted from accessing the area as part of measures to protect the natural environment. It is no longer a true secret during the busiest months, but arriving outside peak hours can reveal why this corner of Menorca became famous in the first place.
