10Chase the Northern Lights

One of Lapland’s biggest draws is the chance to witness the aurora borealis, a celestial phenomenon that paints the night sky with ribbons of green, pink, and violet light. The best time to see the northern lights is between September and April, on clear, dark nights.
Head to remote locations away from artificial light for the best views. Places like Abisko National Park in Sweden and Rovaniemi in Finland are particularly famous for their aurora sightings. For an extra special experience, book a stay in a glass igloo or aurora cabin and watch the lights dance from the warmth of your bed.
