4Snake Handlers’ Procession

During this ritual, called Festa Dei Serpari, or snake handlers’ procession, locals parade through the streets with the snakes they especially caught.

Handled by specialists known as Serpari, the snakes get wrapped around the statue of Domenico di sora, a patron saint of Cocullo and a Toothache protector.
