Cheverny certainly doesn’t play in the same league as the others we’ve listed among the most beautiful castles in France.

However, this remarkable 17th-century country mansion is famed for being the model used by Hergé when drawing the Château de Moulinsart (Marlinspike Hall in English) in The Adventures of Tintin comic books.
