Santorini, with its iconic white-washed buildings and stunning sunsets, has become one of the most photographed destinations in Europe. However, the island’s infrastructure is struggling to cope with the sheer number of visitors, particularly during the summer months when cruise ships bring in thousands of tourists each day.
The narrow streets and small villages become overcrowded, and the island’s environment suffers from overuse of resources. Local authorities have started to limit the number of cruise ships and are promoting off-season travel to reduce the pressure on the island.
