7Pamukkale, Turkey

Pamukkale, which translates to “Cotton Castle” in Turkish, is famous for its white travertine terraces formed by mineral-rich thermal waters flowing down the mountainside.

The natural pools are filled with warm, turquoise water that is believed to have healing properties.

Visitors can walk along the terraces and take a dip in the thermal pools while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The nearby ancient city of Hierapolis also offers a rich historical context, with well-preserved ruins and the opportunity to bathe in the ancient Roman pool, known as Cleopatra’s Pool, filled with submerged columns and thermal waters.
