3White Desert, Egypt

Tucked away in Egypt’s Western Desert, the White Desert is a surreal landscape of chalk-white rock formations sculpted by centuries of wind erosion.

These otherworldly formations, known as “rock mushrooms” or “fairy chimneys,” cast eerie shadows against the desert sands, creating a landscape that feels like it belongs in a dream. Visitors can camp under the stars amidst these ethereal formations and witness the desert come alive with a myriad of colors during sunrise and sunset.
