8Reed Flute Cave, China
Located near Guilin, Reed Flute Cave is one of China’s most visually impressive underground attractions. The limestone cave is filled with stalactites, stalagmites, columns and unusual rock formations.
What makes it especially memorable is the way the formations interact with carefully positioned lighting. Walls and ceilings appear in dramatic colors, transforming the natural chambers into an almost fantasy-like environment.
The cave takes its name from reeds that grow outside and were traditionally used to make musical flutes. Inside, visitors encounter a spectacular underground world that combines geology, history and local legend.
