1The Refuge du Goûter (France)

Perched on Mont Blanc at an altitude of 12,516 feet, the Refuge du Goûter is one of the most remote mountain huts in the world.

Accessible only by a challenging climb, it serves as a resting point for mountaineers attempting to reach the summit. The isolation is extreme, with the nearest sign of civilization far below in the valleys of Chamonix.
Why it’s lonely: The house is surrounded by glaciers and peaks, cut off from the world by the sheer difficulty of the climb.
