Step inside the Sagrada Família and one of the first things you notice is how different the interior feels from a traditional Gothic church.
The columns rise and branch out toward the ceiling, creating an effect reminiscent of trees in a forest. This was not accidental. Gaudí frequently looked to nature for architectural inspiration.
Instead of relying entirely on traditional Gothic structures, he experimented with geometry, branching forms and innovative structural solutions.
The result is an interior that feels less like a conventional stone building and more like an enormous architectural forest.
