It features multiple layers of tall fencing, surveillance cameras, motion sensors, floodlights, and regular patrols by Spanish security forces. These measures were introduced to reduce irregular migration while allowing legal crossings through official checkpoints.
Despite these security systems, migrants continue to attempt dangerous crossings by land and sea.
