6Mount Etna is part of a National Park

Etna National Park covers around 224 square miles with Mount Etna as its centerpiece. The Park is home to mountains, lava fields, forests and several nearby towns. Hikers enjoy the numerous hiking trails, some of which lead right up to the slopes of Mount Etna.

The cable car ride up the mountain’s south face is also quite the treat. Mount Etna is a major winter attraction with many areas open to skiing and snowboarding.
