3Playa de Torimbia, Asturias

Asturias has some of Spain’s most dramatic beaches, and Playa de Torimbia is a beautiful example. A broad crescent of sand sits beneath impressive green cliffs, creating a landscape that feels much more wild than the Mediterranean resort image usually associated with Spain.

The beach has a long history as a naturist destination, although visitors with or without swimwear can be found here. Spain’s official tourism website notes that cliffs more than 50 metres high shelter the beach. The surrounding scenery is the real star, particularly when viewed from above.
