10The Parthenon Marbles (Elgin Marbles)

These sculptural masterpieces once adorned the Parthenon, the iconic temple atop the Athenian Acropolis.

Carved under the supervision of renowned artists Phidias and his assistants, the marbles depict mythological scenes, figures of gods, and a procession of Athenians. Despite the controversy surrounding their acquisition, these marbles are a testament to Greek classical artistry and are currently housed in the British Museum in London.
