9Burano

Burano is one of the most beautiful villages in the world, thanks to being home to plenty of brightly colored houses. Often referred to as Italy’s most colorful town, Burano makes a perfect day trip from Venice, as it’s only 9.3 kilometers away, taking between 40 and 45 minutes to get to by ferry.

The island is famous for its traditional art of lace making, which has greatly contributed to its success. Some of the best things to do during a day trip to Burano include strolling along its charming streets, trying the island’s seafood in the local delicious restaurants, and visiting Burano Lace Museum to learn about the incredible tradition of lace-making.
