2Tiger’s Nest Monastery Hike – Bhutan

For a spiritual and scenic hike, the trek to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang) in Bhutan is a must. Perched precariously on the side of a cliff 3,000 feet above the Paro Valley, the monastery is one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks. The hike itself is relatively short, taking about four to five hours round-trip, but the altitude and steep ascent make it a challenge.

The trail winds through forests of blue pine and past fluttering prayer flags, offering stunning views of the valley below. As you ascend, the monastery comes into view, seemingly floating in the mist. The hike to Tiger’s Nest is not just a physical journey but a spiritual pilgrimage, and reaching the monastery feels like stepping into another world.
