Yes, this rusty ship has been an incredible feature of Navagio Beach for more than 40 years since it got sealed in the October of 1980. Being that the only way to access the shipwreck is by boat, thieves were able to steal a portion of it, including some equipment. Luckily, some of the thieves were caught with parts of the wreck, which were later returned.

The authorities asked the ship’s captain to remove the ship from the cove, but he came back and realized that the location made the beach look even more gorgeous. That’s when he decided to leave it there with the intention of enticing tourists from different places to come there and enjoy its beauty.
