Emilia-Romagna is considered the culinary heart of Italy, boasting iconic dishes such as tagliatelle al ragù, better known as spaghetti Bolognese outside of Italy. 

The region is also famous for its Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, Prosciutto di Parma, and balsamic vinegar from Modena. For a taste of Emilia-Romagna’s sweet side, try traditional desserts like torta di riso, a rice pudding cake, or zabaglione, a light custard flavored with Marsala wine.
