7Dubrovnik, Croatia – Don’t Underestimate Peak Season

The medieval walls, terracotta rooftops and sparkling Adriatic coastline of Dubrovnik make it one of the most beautiful destinations in the Mediterranean.

However, the historic centre can become exceptionally crowded during July and August. Cruise ship arrivals and organised excursions can bring thousands of additional visitors into a relatively compact area.

Prices for accommodation, restaurants and activities can also be considerably higher during peak season.

Before booking: Consider May, June, September or early October. The weather is often pleasant, while sightseeing can be considerably more comfortable.
