Hydra (also spelled Ydra or Idra) is a small island in the Argolic Gulf of the Aegean Sea. It is part of the Saronic Islands and near Athens.

To get there, you can take one of the daily direct ferries from Piraeus to the island. The journey usually lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. The best part about Hydra is that it is a car-free island, which means that you can really unwind from the craziness of the city and the larger islands. To move around you can walk or use one of the boats or water taxis that service the island’s beaches.
