Packing only for sunny skies because “it’s summer in Europe” can backfire. Weather can change rapidly, especially in countries like the UK, Ireland, or even Switzerland where sudden rain showers are common.

What to do instead: Check the forecast for each destination, and pack layers. Bring a lightweight waterproof jacket or umbrella even in the summer.
