Open seas, fresh seafood, colorful buildings, and wide beaches may all seem like things better left to the coastal villages of Southern Italy but that’s only because visitors overlook the lesser-known seaside town of Camogli in the north.

Located on the west side of the famous Portofino, Camogli is a fishing village close to Genoa. Much like the towns along the Amalfi Coast, Camogli’s pastel-colored buildings rise from the sea and are flanked by medieval castles, small trattorias, and breezy promenades.
