Sudan has been experiencing severe violence since the outbreak of the Sudanese Civil War (2023–present). The conflict began after tensions between the national army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces escalated into open warfare.
The capital city of Khartoum has been heavily affected, with fighting taking place in residential areas and vital infrastructure collapsing. Violence has also spread to regions such as Darfur, where civilians have faced growing insecurity and displacement.
The conflict has caused massive humanitarian challenges, including shortages of food, medicine, and basic services.
