6Canopy Walk, Ghana

The Canopy Walkway in Ghana’s Kakum National Park may not be as high or long as some of the other bridges on this list, but it offers its own brand of danger.

Suspended 40 meters above the forest floor, this series of narrow suspension bridges made of rope and wood allows visitors to walk among the treetops. The walkways sway with every step, and the ropes can seem alarmingly thin. For those with a fear of heights, walking across the Canopy Walk is a true test of nerves.
