5Croatia – The Adriatic Coast Can Become Overwhelming

Croatia has developed into one of Europe’s most desirable summer destinations. Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar and the Dalmatian islands attract visitors looking for beautiful beaches, historic architecture and crystal-clear water.

The problem is the concentration of visitors during the summer season. Popular coastal towns can become extremely busy, while accommodation and restaurant prices rise during July and August.

The European Commission has also identified Croatia as a country with particularly high tourism intensity and seasonality, making its tourism industry vulnerable to sudden changes in demand.
Mobility and Transport

Why think twice? If you dislike crowds, avoid the busiest weeks. September can be an excellent alternative, particularly for travellers interested in coastal sightseeing and swimming.
