While Italy is becoming increasingly card-friendly, it’s advisable to carry some cash with you, especially in smaller towns and markets where cash is preferred.  

Make sure to inform your bank about your travel plans to avoid any issues with your credit or debit cards while abroad. ATMs are widely available, so you can withdraw cash as needed.
