It’s the largest of Spain’s four Balearic islands, and its capital city, Palma de Mallorca, was founded by the Romans as Palmeria.

These days its a vibrant modern city with an atmospheric medieval quarter, Gothic cathedral, and Moorish Palaces. It’s particularly regarded for its art and food scenes.
