4San Gimignano – The City of Towers

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and offers some of the best views of the Tuscan countryside. The town’s main square, Piazza della Cisterna, is surrounded by ancient stone buildings and offers a step back in time. San Gimignano is also famous for its Vernaccia wine, a crisp white that you can sample in local wine shops or while dining in the town’s traditional trattorias.
