3Montbéliard – A Fairytale of Lights
Each December, Montbéliard hosts one of France’s most beautiful Christmas festivals: Les Lumières de Noël (The Festival of Lights). The entire town center glows under thousands of lanterns, arches, and illuminated displays that create a dreamlike atmosphere.
The Christmas market celebrates regional craftsmanship and delicious specialties from the Franche-Comté region—comté cheese, smoked meats, and festive sweets. Live choirs, parades, and artistic performances complete the fairytale feel.
