At the end of the Lenten season, the Church celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus with a feast at Pasqua, officially breaking the penitential fast.

The week leading up to Easter is La Settimana Santa, Holy Week, and draws large crowds to Vatican City to celebrate with the pope.
