3Grasmere, Lake District

Grasmere is another jewel of the Lake District, famous as the former home of poet William Wordsworth.

Its stone cottages, lakeside scenery, and surrounding mountains make it one of the most picturesque spots in England. Visitors flock to St. Oswald’s Church, where Wordsworth is buried, and to sample the village’s famous Grasmere Gingerbread, a local treat dating back to the 19th century.
