9Eating at the Wrong Times

Spanish meal times are very different from what many visitors are used to. Lunch often starts around 2 p.m., and dinner rarely begins before 9 p.m. Tourists who show up at 6 p.m. may find restaurants closed or empty.

Tip: Adjust to Spanish rhythms. Snack on tapas between meals if needed, and embrace the late-night dining culture—it’s part of the charm.
