5Tipping Too Much (or Too Little)

Italy doesn’t have a strong tipping culture like the U.S., but tourists often overcompensate. Service is usually included in the bill (servizio incluso), though a small tip is appreciated.

Avoid it: Round up or leave a couple of euros at cafes and restaurants. For taxis, you can round to the nearest euro. Tipping isn’t required, but thoughtful gestures go a long way.
