Outside Ho Chi Minh City, the Cu Chi Tunnels form an enormous underground network that became an important part of Vietnam’s wartime history.
The tunnels contained living areas, kitchens, storage spaces, meeting rooms and other facilities, creating a complex subterranean system beneath the countryside. Some sections were remarkably narrow, while others were designed to support larger groups underground.
Visitors can explore preserved sections of the tunnels and learn about the extraordinary conditions in which people lived and operated below the surface.
