3St George’s Church, Topola, Serbia

Stepping inside St George’s Church on Oplenac Hill is instantly spellbinding. Some 40 million pieces of glass make up the ecclesiastical mosaics which cover the interior, including the marble floor and iconostasis (a tiered screen with icons).

Also known as the Oplenac Mausoleum, this resting place of the Serbian royal family was founded by King Peter I and completed in 1930.
