Fairy-tale brightly painted Houses

t is situated near to Torcello at the northern end of the Venetian Lagoon.

Its current population is estimated to be about 2,800. The residents do not choose the colors, with which the houses will be painted.
The colors follow a specific system originating from the golden age of its development. If someone wants to paint their home, one must send a request to the government.
