1Semana Grande – Bilbao, Basque Country
Semana Grande, or Aste Nagusia, takes place in Bilbao every August and is one of northern Spain’s most lively festivals. The week-long event features fireworks, concerts, traditional Basque sports, parades, and gastronomic fairs.
One of the festival’s highlights is the daily fireworks competition, which illuminates the city and the nearby Nervión River with breathtaking displays. Street performances, music stages, and local dances keep the energy alive from morning until late at night.
