3Days 5–6: Florence – Birthplace of the Renaissance
No artistic journey through Italy would be complete without Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. During the 15th and 16th centuries, this Tuscan city became the center of a cultural revolution that transformed European art.
The Uffizi Gallery is one of the world’s greatest museums, home to masterpieces by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. Botticelli’s Birth of Venus alone is worth the visit.
Another must-see is the Accademia Gallery, where Michelangelo’s monumental statue of David stands in breathtaking perfection.
Beyond the museums, Florence itself feels like an open-air gallery. Walk across the historic Ponte Vecchio, climb the dome of Florence Cathedral for panoramic views, and explore artisan workshops in the Oltrarno district.
