2Day 2: Vatican City

Day two is dedicated to exploring the world’s smallest country: Vatican City. Despite its size, it holds some of the most extraordinary artistic and spiritual treasures on Earth.

Start your visit at the famous Vatican Museums, a vast complex containing centuries of artistic masterpieces collected by the popes. As you walk through its elaborate galleries, you will encounter sculptures, tapestries, maps, and Renaissance paintings.

The highlight of the museum complex is undoubtedly the Sistine Chapel, where the breathtaking ceiling frescoes by Michelangelo Buonarroti depict scenes from the Book of Genesis. The iconic image of “The Creation of Adam” remains one of the most recognizable artworks in the world.

After leaving the museums, step into the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica, the spiritual heart of the Catholic Church. Inside, you can admire stunning works of art, including Michelangelo’s delicate sculpture, the Pietà. Climbing to the top of the dome offers one of the most impressive panoramic views of Rome.

Finish the day in St. Peter’s Square, designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, where the elegant colonnades embrace visitors arriving from all over the world.
