9Extreme Weather Is Forecast During Your Stay
Europe’s climate is becoming increasingly unpredictable, and extreme weather can affect destinations that traditionally enjoy pleasant conditions throughout the year.
Southern Europe can experience dangerous heatwaves, particularly during July and August. Temperatures can remain extremely high for several consecutive days, making sightseeing uncomfortable and potentially dangerous. Meanwhile, northern and central European destinations can experience severe storms, flooding and unusually heavy rainfall.
Mountain destinations present additional challenges, including sudden snowfall, avalanches and dangerous hiking conditions.
If the forecast indicates extreme weather during your planned visit, consider changing your travel dates. A holiday involving outdoor activities, coastal excursions or extensive walking might not be enjoyable under such circumstances.
