The war in Yemen remains one of the most prolonged conflicts in the Middle East. It began in 2014 when the Houthi movement seized control of the capital city, Sanaa.

A coalition led by Saudi Arabia intervened to support the internationally recognized Yemeni government. Although ceasefires have occasionally reduced the intensity of fighting, the conflict has not been fully resolved.

The war has produced a severe humanitarian crisis, leaving millions of Yemenis in need of food assistance, healthcare, and shelter.
